Here's another recipe submitted by Toby. My Mother's Stew
Don't be misled by the simplicity of this stew. It comes out real soft and flavorsome.
2 lbs. veal cut into cubes*
3 medium onions
6 garlic cloves, sliced or minced
salt, pepper
about 1/4c water or white wine
thyme (optional)
1-2 Tbsp tomato paste (optional)
1. Stew the first six ingredients on very low heat for 3 hours
2. Add tomato paste about five minutes before end.
Beef can be substituted but it's not as good.
