My name is Lynnea and I am new to NOAH Forums even though I have known of it for quite some time.
I am terribly shy, so it was very hard for me to find a way to ease into the community until my mom gave me an idea of how I can introduce myself with these three facts.
I am 18 years old and an anime lover! ^_^
I love to cosplay. <3
I love to draw. (24/7) lol
The love of anime introduced me to Conventions and cosplay. Cosplay is the art of dressing up like any character you desire to be. Basically like Halloween, but you can do it anytime you would like; and the word applies to much more than just Marvel Comics and Movie characters. (Anime//Manga (Japanese comics) and video game characters are also included.) It is so much fun!I
know one of the consequences of having albinism is being stared at all the time, but cosplay gives them a completely different reason to stare in your direction.
With friends, I cosplay at the mall, public parks, and other public areas to take photo shoots of our characters together. This results in people who know our characters or people who just like the way our costumes look, to come up to us and ask for pictures, with them , their children, or just of the group. It takes the negativity out of being stared at, because we are enjoying ourselves, having fun!
One funny thing about cosplay is the fact that many of the characters have odd colored hair (pink, blue, red, purple, white/silver..etc.) and very fair skin….~_^ You know what that means? No matter what wig you wear, you always look good! xDDD
This is a trait that many of my friends have come to envy about me. (Though I have never been one to take pride in myself or my looks.) This brings me to a very encouraging fact:
The cosplaying/anime community is very accepting because uniqueness is what is desired most. You find people who admire you and for the physical traits/makeup you have; even calling them beautiful.
For instance I have earned the title “Porcelain Doll” from my friends, which actually makes me feel pretty good about myself. ^-^
One more thing I would like to share, is the fact that I enjoy drawing! To me, art is a passion! I know being visually impaired means you can’t see things as well as most, but I NEVER let that stop me from doing what I love. <3Please, if you would like to, check out my DeviantArt. I post everything on there, including Cosplay pictures. <3

I hope to make many new friends on here! God Bless!
