Hmm... Well, I've written numerous songs to impress guys... And pretty good songs too! Haha. They usually always work.. unless the guy completely misses the point, which sucks. Anyway...
There was a guy my junior year of high school. He wasn't really my type at all, but he was sweet to me. He was both interested and understanding of my albinism. But he was a bit of a trouble maker with girls... if you guys know what I mean. So, I wrote a song which I titled "Cure for Blindness." Ironically... it refers to HIS metaphorical blindness not my own actual blindness.(Haha)
There's a very old recording of this song on my myspace (www.myspace.com/DaniMarieSoloMusic). Maybe I'll make a video and post it on my youtube. By the way, check out my youtube channel while you guys are at it! Haha.
Here are the lyrics.
"You're beautiful," he says to me,
With that grin, he wears it all the time
He says, "You know you're a great friend,
You're a great friend"
And then he looks at me with knowing eyes,
And it's almost like he can see the pain I keep trying to hide
And I can tell he's lonely,
He is lonely too
But I'm gonna make him believe
That he's worth so much more
And I'm gonna make him see
Just what his life has in store
What it has in store
Why do you stay with them when you know
They're gonna treat you the same
To them this is just a game
This is just a game
But I keep tryin' and tryin'
To make you see
But you keep overlooking me
Overlooking me
(Chorus)
But I'm gonna make him beliee,
That he's worth so much more,
And I'm gonna make him see,
Just what his life has in store,
What it has in store
(Repeat chorus) "
And that's one of the less corney songs I've sung for a guy.
