I chose wire flex frames for my son (he was 9 mos old at the time) and polycarbonate lenses (lighter weight) Thought it would be easier to wear and look better. has had the frame replaced once (yes, he broke the flex frame), lenses replaced once (both under warranty--don't use the scratch warranty until really needed, but always before it runs out)and replaced a bit off nose piece for $9 which I don't think is bad for a toddler. I had to pay myself for the glasses--insurance would not pay the extras, and not at all for me to get them at a shop specializing in children, AND recommended by his vision teacher and case worker for the Division of Blind Services.
