I can only speak from my own experience First off my vision is 20/100 left and 20/200 right uncorrected, and 20/60 both eyes corrected with regular distance type glasses. My vision was 20/200 and 20/400 until i was about 21 yrs old. I was told that my vision improved with age as the muscles matured, thus diminishing my nastagnis. I was also told that the reason my vision is now correctable from 20/100 and 20/ 200 to 20/60 is I got older and the four main muscles that control the shape and movement of my eyes have started to weaken and thus less nastagnis and optical corretion is possible to a certain extaent. With regard to skin cancer I have been through a good bit of it and am prwtty well informed as to cancrs and suntan lotion. I am an avid offshore fishermen. I spend a lot of time in the sun. I wear a wide brimmed hat, long sleeve collared shirt and pants. I like Columbia clothing for this, it looks good, and I don't feel like a freak at the beach so to say. I also use coppertone sport 30 first thing in the morning, after I take a shower, and let it dry before I go outside. If iam good about my application in the morning I usually do not need more that that, but it is in the application. I have had some skin cancer mind you I have gone to see some of the best dermatologists in the country, especially DR. Michael Ming at the University of Pennsylvania's Pigmented Lessions Group.. They tell me most skin cancers come from burns at younger ages not so much from later on in life. It takes time for the suns ray to alter your Skins DNA, it is not just one burn. I am lso old enough to be of the UVAL 7 Sun Tan lotion. for mthe 1970's, which ain't doin squat for an albino like me. I have had a suspected melonoma on my left ear, but they found no absolute evidence that it was a melanoma, as I am told it is very difficult to confirm in albinos. I am also told that stistically speaking it is less likey for an albino to get a melonama, as we have less pigment, comparatively. It is you melanin's DNA that must be affected by the sun's rays in order to form a melnoma, thus less % of melanin, less % chance of melanoma. Just because I am an albino does not mean mean that my pigment cells are different, there are just less of them. I guess my advice is take action, not a reaction, and be preventitive as far as skin disease goes. ,and with regard to driving ask the experts , I can only report on my personal experiences, based upon my own physical and visual history.
