Hi. I'm pretty new here too. I can't really answer your question from experience, but I can say that it's not impossible. I'd always been told that'd I'd never drive, but after getting on this web site I learned that there are many people with Albinism that are able to get a driver's license. I know that some states allow people with low vision to use a bioptic teliscope that clips onto your glasses. I'm 17 and I think that's the worst part about Albinism, when all your friends have their own cars and trucks and have had their driver's licenses since last year. I never thought it'd be that big of a deal, but now that I should have my license, it totally sucks. I do drive, but not on the highway. My mom is very good about pulling over at back roads where there's not that much traffic and letting me drive to the other end of the road. I think the best thing you can do is just practice, I don't think it's that much different for us than it is for a person with perfect vision, we have to learn the same things, we just have to take more precautions than they do. I wish you all the luck in the world that you can get to drive. I'm going to ask my eye doctor about it when I go for my next appointment in July. (I've been studying the driver's manual so that we can go straight to the DMV and take the permit test on the way home from the eye doctor lol. The funny thing is, my mom thinks I'm joking lol.) Anyway, I don't know if this has been helpful, but I know there are a lot of people on here that drive and I'm so thankful for them, because they gave me that hope that I never had. Welcome to NOAH.
