Adoption Agency with infant girl with albinism

Hi - my name is Sara Lang and I work as a waiting child coordinator for a non-profit adoption agency, Madison Adoption Associates (MAA).  MAA receives referrals of children from China - these children are considered "hard-to-place" due to their special need/medical condition.  We work with families throughout the entire process to bring these children into their families and provide them with a loving home.

One of the referrals we received in June is a little girl, born December 1, 2006, and diagnosed with albinism. We would love to find a family for her who is familiar with this condition and can provide the life-long encouragement and support she will need.  Please contact me at sara.maa@comcast.net if you would like more information about this precious little girl.

    Thank you ~ Sara

I am in Georgia, 31 years of age, with no children and I would like to know what the process is to adopt a child? I am interested in starting a family and adoption could be a great outlet for me. Please, share requirements.

There are many different requirements for adoption depending on many factors: domestic vs international, if international then what country.  Countries have their own requirements about marital status, income, number of children in the home already, etc.  A good place to start is doing preliminary research and deciding soem of the big questions first.

We checked books out from teh library and purchased a few.  "Adoption of Dummies" is a good overview as well as the "Complete Adoption Handbook".  Hope this helps and please ask away.

My name is Teresa I am 39 and am an albino my husband and I can not have children due to infertility and have looked into adoption but the costs are soo high we can not afford it.  What are the agency fees and so forth to adopt through your organization.

There are many agencies to chose from. NOAH doesn't place children for adoption - just helps support families and individuals with albinism.  Personally we used Chinese Children Adoption International out of Denver (Centenial) for the adoption of our two children.  The costs can vary from 18K - 30K and more.  You need to research agencies very carefully and look at all the costs up front.  There are grants available through various sources, special low interest adoption loans, we borrowed against life insurance and used credit cards.  Domestic foster-adopt is a less expensive way to go as well.  I hope this helps some.
