Are there any times that you wished that you were totally blind and not visually Impaired?

Do you think that you would have been treated differently if they were blind?

Do you have friends their own age who are blind or visually impaired?

Do you get tired of having to always educate people where you go about your visual impairmnent and other medical problems that come with having HPS?

Never been introduced to a white can and id hate to be the person that tries that with me lol. There is no way id prefer to be totally blind. I have seen far to many beautiful things to say that. I think explaining your situation to people is just pare for the course with our situation. Its not going to go away and people will always ask the same questions or make the same comments we just have to deal with it.  Most people that i met dont realize i have a visual problem until much later when theyhand me a reciept to read or a map or something of that sort. I was raise just like a fully sighted person when i was growing up so i learned how to deal with not seeing very well in different ways for different situations. I dont mind answering people questions if they ask me and i make it my personal goal to make a person feel about 1 inch tall when they yeal random things. Ive found that if you turn rught around and walk right up to them and ask "What?" they promptly insert their own foot in their mouth and dont say anything else. But at the same time i have had some great conversations with people that randomely asked me a question.

Hi Jessica.  Often I had wished that I was totallyy blind.  The reason why is because people are used to seeing blind people with canes and dogs.  When they see a person with glasses, for example, and you tell them that you cannot see the menu from McDonald's for example, since it is all the way in the top, some of the employees would dare to say, why can't you see it, don't you have glasses.  People live in their own little sighted world so therefore, they are very ignorant or stupid.
