    Hats for infants???

Could somebody please give me some suggestions on where to find hats with bills that are small enough for a newborn?  My pediatrician strongly reccomended them but I can't seem to find them anywhere.  Thanks for your assistance.

Maybe its location specific, but our Walmart and JC Penney here doesn't carry the hats with bills / brims on them.  Just the regular infant hats that only cover their heads and doesn't offer any sun protection.  I will check babies r us and gap.  Thanks for the info..

I don't know how small they come, but I just got Cassie one at Old Navy with a brim all around it and a strap! I usually order online and Old Navy is reasonably priced.

Whenever we see hats with nice, wide brims, we always snatch them up!  We have a really cute hat collection at this point--our daughter is 6--and so she's able to pick and choose.  Generally, we've found the best hats at Gymboree, Old Navy, and Gap.  And I agree about looking online--they often sell out in the stores but can be found online.

They sell great hats (that cover their neck and back) and sunglasses for babies at Target. They come in all different colors and are inexpensive.

Target also now carried swimwear with SPF 50 material now for babies, toddlers and kids

I don't think we have spoken yet, I am Tricia.  Mom of an 18mo girl with OCA1A.  0 pigment.  Anyway I have great luck online, and usually you can find ones already UPF 50 and up. They have great ones at Alex and me  http://www.alexandme.com/Children_UV_Clothing_s/106.htm

also one step ahead which I know someone already told you about.  You should also look for some sunglasses and a few sun shirts or zip up light weight shirts that are UPF to protect him prior to using sunblock.  Good luck and if you need anything feel free to send a privet message I will give you my e-mail.

    Good luck hunting

    Tricia

Have you tried www.sundayafternoons.com their hats are FANTASTIC!

The Sportsman Warehouse stocks them, we got them in AZ,  my daughter loves them, she has been wearing them for 2 years, website says they start at 17-18" circumference, not sure if that will be smal enough

Funny you should say that, Kalli's new hat is by sunday afternoons, it was cheaper at Alex and me instead of the makers websight.  Great hat, the brim is 3" and stays out on its own, plus it is very cute!

    Re: Hats for infants???

    Hi,

I am also new to all this.  My son is almost 8mo old.

Lands End also has a good selection, but I'm not sure how small.

I would recommend a stroller shade more than anything else while still an infant.  I have a Kiddopotomus from Babies R Us that completely covers the stroller, but still allows good air flow.  It has been the BEST sun-protection item that I have purchased!
