It may have been me. I had tinted contacts at first and they really irritated my eyes. It turns out that to tint them, well the brand i had, they had to make the contact a little thicker. It was too thick for my eye and it would make my eyes water and really red. I even started getting bumps under my eye lid. It also turned out that I was allergic to my contact solution bc my eyes are so sensative. What are you using now? I was using "Complete' then, but even since I moved to 'Clear Care" by CibaVision, the allergy has gone away.
Have you talked to you eye doctor about the pain? I went again his wishes and asked for clear contacts. It doesn't help with keeping glare out of my eyes, but i put sunglasses on when I'm outside, and wear a hat and that is fine with me. The tinted ones also made my night vision stink since, well, they're tinted!
I would say ask you doctor about clear ones. Contacts have helped improve my vision by so much, and I hope that you can find a pair that will be comfortable to you so you can keep wearing them.
