I work in the ER and we had a family come in and they had an 11 month old and a 5 year old. The great granfather had come in with Resp. failure. Everyone was was very upset. When I went to register the man I had his daughter sign the papers. As she was signing i looked over and saw my son's twin. This baby looked just like Andy and had a very active nystagmus. He has yellow hair and blue eyes as welll as the sister. I said to the mom, oh he has a nystagmus. they did not say anything. I did not get a good look at the sister's eyes. I wanted to asked them about their baby, but because they were already upset, I did not want to say anything. But, this nystagmus was really fast. It was so obvious he at least had the nystagmus. I wanted to ask if he had albinism, but then I did not want to open up a new can of worms. I feel bad now I did not say anything, so this kid could get EI IF he had it. He could have had just the infant nystagmus and not albinism. But, both kids had the yellow hair and blue eyes with white high lights. Should I have said something?? If they were here for something lil, I would have said something, but their grandad went right to ICU once he was stabled enough. UGHHHHH, i feel like I should have said something...
