I want to say the name of the stuff is Lanacaine (?).

It's got benzocaine in it to dull the pain.  I don't tan well, never did, but I keep a tube handy for when myself or the kids overdo it in the sun.  My oldest didn't listen to his mom last year (sunscreen) and he blistered up really bad. (He's a redhead with really fair skin)

We also had a type of Aloe with either benzocaine or lidocaine in it that seemed to help.  (Well,...if you squirt a bunch directly on the affected area the poor kid screamed like you'd just sliced his nipples off with a chainsaw...so go easy on it at first)

    !!!! Poor Kid!

Perrsonally, I use anything with as much Aloe as possible. I find its the best thing for sunburns. Also never itch the area, and of course, keep it out of the sun for awhile :)
