    Adoption with albinism

Hi!  My first post.  My daughter-in-law has albinism and is fearful of having children biologically but has considered adoption, especially of a child with albinism or vision challenges as she would have great compassion for their problems.  My son has full sight and her family could help with a child, but her own independence was hard won and she fears being dependent on others for help with a child. How would a person find such a child to adopt? I had known two sisters with albinism when I was a child, and so was very comfortable and happy to have this beautiful woman join our family. Anyone wiht experience in adopting specifically a child with albinism?

My son and DIL are in the process of adopting a baby who has albinism.  They are adopting through an agency and it was just by chance that at this particular time a baby was born with albinism.  I'm new to the world of albinism so hope there will be others who can give you a more specific answer to your question.
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.

Hi,  I am adopting a child with albinism.  You can sign up with an agency and just wait for a Child to be avalible, but you would have better luck finding a child first, you might try http://www.rainbowkids.com/  and search under albinism.  There are often children with albinism needing homes.   Also there are several albinsm adoption  groups on yahoo groups.  As well as being a suport, these groups are often aware of children in search of homes.  Good luck.
